The Lebanese TV channel Al Mayadeen has reported that columns of US military equipment have been observed moving along the border between Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
According to the report, several US military convoys were spotted at the Arar checkpoint. The channel suggests that this troop movement may be related to preparations for a potential Iranian strike on Israel.
Recent tensions in the Middle East have escalated following the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, chairman of the politburo of the Palestinian movement Hamas, in Tehran, and the killing of Fuad Shukr, a commander of the military wing of the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah, in Beirut.
