President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at the inauguration ceremony said that the color revolution in the Republic failed, although the statehood was an unprecedented challenge, Sputnik Belarus reports.

On Wednesday, Lukashenko's inauguration ceremony was held in Minsk.

"Our statehood was challenged by repeatedly proven fail-safe technologies for destroying independent States. But we were among the very few - perhaps even the only ones-where the "color revolution" did not take place. And this is the choice of Belarusians who do not want to lose the country in any case," Lukashenko said.

He noted that the events in the country made it clear that the majority of Belarusians love their land and wish it peace, calm and prosperity.

"Despite devilishly sophisticated external nudges, we have maintained respect for each other," Lukashenko said.
Presidential elections were held in Belarus on August 9. According to the CEC, Lukashenko won with 80.1% of the vote. According to the law, the inauguration of the President-elect must take place within two months from the election day, the CEC of the Republic told RIA Novosti earlier.

However, the opposition does not agree with the results of the elections and holds protests. They continue to this day. In the first days, the actions were suppressed by security forces, and tear gas, stun grenades, water cannons, and rubber bullets were used against protesters who did not agree with the results. According to official data, more than 6,700 people were detained in the first few days. As the Ministry of internal Affairs of the Republic reported at the time, hundreds of people were injured during the riots, including more than 130 law enforcement officers. Authorities have officially confirmed the deaths of three protesters. At the same time, Lukashenko's supporters also hold actions in support of him.
