The meeting of the BRICS heads of state will be held next year in Kazan. This is stated in a decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, published on Monday on the official portal of legal information.
"In connection with the forthcoming presidency of the Russian Federation in the BRICS association in 2024, I hereby decree to set the city of Kazan as the venue for the meeting of the BRICS heads of state in 2024. To establish an organizing committee for the preparation and facilitating of the Russian presidency of BRICS in 2024," the decree reads.
According to the document, Yury Ushakov, the aide to the Russian president, was appointed chairman of the organizing committee.
