Iran believes that Trump announced a deal with Tehran to attract votes

The US President Donald Trump's announcement of a deal with Tehran within one month of his re-election was made solely to attract votes. This opinion was expressed on Tuesday by the official representative of the government of Iran, Ali Rabei.

"It seems that the latest statements have no other purpose than to attract votes in the elections," the IRNA news agency quoted him as saying. According to Rabei, "even if Trump is re-elected for the second term, as long as he continues the policy of pressure on Iran, he will not be able to achieve any deal."

The politician noted that "Trump had four years to choose the right path and start successful diplomacy with Iran." "Not only did he not do it, but he also made the biggest mistakes for the US in recent decades," he added.

On Monday, Trump said that the US would reach an agreement with Iran within a month if he was re-elected. According to him, the biggest dream of the Iranian side is the victory of the Democratic candidate, former Vice President of the United States Joseph Biden.
