President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is set to visit Kazan at the invitation of Russian leader Vladimir Putin, to participate in the opening ceremony of the Games of the Future. This was confirmed by Mirziyoyev's press service.
"The agenda of the visit includes a bilateral meeting between the two heads of state, during which they will discuss the implementation of agreements reached during Mirziyoyev's official visit to Russia on October 5-7, 2023, as well as further strengthening the relations of comprehensive strategic partnership," the statement noted.
"The Games of the Future, taking place for the first time in the Russian Federation from February 21 to March 3, are competitions that integrate traditional sports, scientific advancements, and digital technologies. This extensive sporting event will see the participation of 227 teams from 107 countries, including athletes from Uzbekistan," the press service added.
