A road map will be developed by representatives of Iran and North Ossetia on economic and cultural cooperation. This was reported on Tuesday by the press service of the head and government of North Ossetia following a meeting between the republic's leader Sergei Menyailo and Iran's ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali.
"Kazem Jalali suggested Sergei Menyailo consider the possibility of creating a working group, which will include representatives of the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the government of North Ossetia. The group will work out a road map for further development of ties between Iran and North Ossetia," the report said.
The ambassador put forward an initiative to organize mutual business missions and an economic exhibition in Vladikavkaz.
The head of North Ossetia noted the importance of common projects and expressed confidence in the need to further strengthen relations. "I am only for the transition to practical steps. We are ready to support your proposal. In the near future, we will jointly develop a road map, which will contribute to the strengthening of economic and cultural ties. I am ready to provide all possible assistance. I am sure that we will move our plans forward at an accelerated pace", said Menyailo.
The ambassador recalled a meeting between the presidents of Iran and Russia, at which the leaders of the countries noted the need to develop economic ties. "And naturally, the development of interregional cooperation will be given special attention in this plan. I also think that North Ossetia, of course, will occupy an important place in this matter. The republic is in a strategic location and can undoubtedly be considered a certain hub for the development of economic ties. We are ready to discuss this topic in detail and make a plan for further development", said the ambassador of Iran.
