Pakistan urges UN Security Council to pay attention to Indian missile incident

Pakistan called on the UN Security Council and the international community to pay attention to the incident with the Indian missile that fell on Pakistani territory, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Tuesday.


Talking to reporters, the Pakistani foreign minister described Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh's explanations about the missile launch as incomplete, and said he had sent a letter to the UN Security Council asking the international community to pay attention to the incident, Reuters reported.


Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, speaking in Parliament on Tuesday, described the missile launch toward Pakistan as accidental. "The reasons for what happened have not yet been determined. The missile launch was accidental. A high-ranking commission has been set up to find out all the circumstances of the accident," the minister said. - "We pay special attention to the safe operation of our weapon systems. If any malfunctions are found, they will be eliminated immediately."


On March 9, a missile was launched in India and landed in Pakistan, 124 kilometers from the border between the two countries. The missile, which did not have a warhead, did not cause any casualties. In connection with the incident, the Pakistani MFA made an official protest to India.
