During a reception held to commemorate Pakistan's Independence Day, Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan announced the conclusion of his diplomatic assignment in Russia.
"I will be departing from Russia next month," the ambassador revealed. "I would like to emphasize the significance of our relationship with Russia for Pakistan."
The ambassador highlighted that he is content with the fact that the bilateral ties between the two nations have developed positively for over two decades. "We anticipate these relations will continue to flourish even further," he added.
Shafqat Ali Khan has been a part of Pakistan's diplomatic service since 1993 and was appointed as the ambassador to Russia in March 2020.
Pakistan officially gained its independence on August 14, 1947. Russian President Vladimir Putin has already conveyed his congratulations on this occasion to his Pakistani counterpart, Arif Alvi. Putin expressed his commitment to strengthen multifaceted Russian-Pakistani relations "for the purpose of bolstering regional stability and security." In May of this year, Russia and Pakistan marked the 75th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations.
