Russian Presidential Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Iraqi Ambassador to Moscow Kahtan Taha Khalaf al-Janabi discussed the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone and the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. This was stated in the message released by the Russian MFA.
"In the discussion of critical aspects of the Middle East agenda, particular attention was directed towards the situation in and around Iraq, the escalating Palestinian-Israeli armed conflict, and the dire humanitarian conditions prevailing in the Gaza Strip," highlighted the ministry.
The Russian foreign ministry also reported that the conversation focused on priority issues for further strengthening traditionally friendly Russian-Iraqi relations. This includes deepening political dialogue and enhancing mutually beneficial trade, economic, and humanitarian cooperation. The meeting took place at the initiative of the Iraqi diplomat.
