The Russian Muftis Council (RMC) and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation (RBMRF) support the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and strongly condemn any attempts to escalate aggression in the region, says the statement of Muslim organizations published on the website of the RMC in connection with the demolition of Palestinian houses in East Jerusalem.
"The RMC and the RBMRF have been stressing the need for a comprehensive political solution to the Palestinian crisis implementing the national aspirations of the Palestinians, while not allowing solutions unilaterally imposed by force. It is necessary to resolve the conflict through dialogue, involving all parties to the conflict in a peaceful settlement," the statement stresses.
On July 22, the Israeli authorities began the demolition of Palestinian houses in Sur Baher in East Jerusalem. Only according to official data, more than two dozens of multi-storey residential buildings were demolished, leading to hundreds of Palestinian families turned out in the streets.
