Despite some violations, the truce in Syria's Idlib is generally observed, and all issues are being resolved with the coordination of the Russian and Turkish military, the head of the Turkish Defense Ministry Hulusi Akar told NTV.

"Even if there are minor violations, the truce in Idlib is observed. There are small groups that try to sabotage it, but we are solving these issues in coordination with our Russian colleagues," RIA Novosti quoted the head of the Turkish Defense Ministry as saying.

Akar added that the Turkish observation posts in Idlib are still in their former places and continue their service as usual.

The situation in Idlib escalated at the end of February, when terrorists from the "Hayat Tahrir al-sham"* group began a large-scale offensive on the positions of the Syrian government troops. The Syrian army returned fire.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the Turkish military, which should not have been there, was also shelled.

After the meeting of Russian and Turkish presidents Vladimir Putin and Tayyip Erdogan in Moscow on March 5, the parties adopted a joint document in which they confirmed their commitment to the "Astana" format and announced a ceasefire. In addition, Moscow and Ankara agreed to jointly patrol the important M-4 highway.
