Vice Prime Minister of Tatarstan was elected as the head of the Milli Shura National Council of the World Congress of Tatars

Vice Prime Minister of Tatarstan Vasil Shaikhraziev was re-elected as the Chairman of the  Milli Shura National Council of the World Congress of Tatars. Hero of Russia Damir Yusupov came up with the relevant initiative at the plenary session of the VIII Congress of the World Congress of Tatars (WCT).


"I propose to elect Vasil Gabtelgazovich as the Chairman of Milli Shura for the next five years as well," he said. The candidacy was unanimously supported by the congress participants. There were no other candidates - on a non-alternative basis Shaikhraziev was approved for the next five-year term.

 

Vasil Shaikhraziev proposed Danis Shakirov (first deputy), deputy Ildar Gilmutdinov, Dania Zagidullina, Saratov entrepreneur Kamil Ablyazov and Taufik Karimov from Kazakhstan as his deputies.

 

During the plenary session of the WCT, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin said that huge enlightenment and educational work has been carried out since the World Congress of Tatars was established 30 years ago. This work is aimed at developing the Tatar language and culture and preserving traditions, Khusnullin said in a video address to the participants of the eighth congress of the World Congress of Tatars taking place in Kazan.

 

He emphasized the unifying role of the congress. "It is very important that thanks to the congress and the efforts introduced, there is a development of language, culture, traditions. This is a huge work, it shows the place of the Tatar people in our country, in the world," the Deputy Prime Minister added.

 

From July 30 to August 2, 2022, Kazan hosts the VIII Congress of the World Congress of Tatars. More than 1,500 delegates and guests from 76 regions of the Russian Federation and 35 countries participate in the congress.
