Iranian Foreign Minister Urged to Remove All Obstacles to Sending Aid to Residents of Gaza Strip

22 March

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian called on international organizations to facilitate the removal of all restrictions on sending humanitarian aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip. This was stated in a statement issued by the Islamic republic's foreign ministry following the minister's telephone conversation with Ismail Haniyeh, head of the politburo of the Palestinian Hamas movement.

"Having seriously criticized the UN Security Council, Amir Abdollahian stressed the need for immediate action by responsible international institutions to stop the killing of women, children, and refugees in the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian territories, as well as to send humanitarian aid to the residents of all areas of the Gaza Strip immediately and bypassing all restrictions," the statement added.

The head of the Hamas politburo, in a conversation with the head of Iranian diplomacy, called on the international community "to counter the policy of mass destruction and starvation pursued by the inhumane Zionist regime (meaning Israel - TASS) against the residents of the Gaza Strip, especially children." Speaking about the ceasefire talks taking place in Doha, Haniyeh noted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would be responsible for the possible breakdown of the talks.
