Lavrov and Fidan Discuss Situation in Middle East and Transcaucasia

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed the situation in the Middle East and Transcaucasia, as well as the situation around the Ukrainian conflict. This was stated in the message of the Russian diplomatic department regarding the results of the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Russia and Turkey on the margins of the meeting of the BRICS Foreign Ministers (FMM) in Nizhny Novgorod.

 

"The main aspects of the international agenda were addressed, including the situation in the Middle East and Transcaucasia, as well as discussions on various international platforms. Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov informed his Turkish counterpart about the priorities of the Russian BRICS chairmanship. The Russian Federation's principal assessments of the situation around the Ukrainian conflict were presented,” the ministry said.

 

 

The diplomatic ministry stated that the ministers discussed various issues of bilateral political dialogue and trade and economic cooperation. “Special emphasis from the Russian side was placed on the need to continue close interaction in the interests of resolving current issues, further expanding ties, and exploring promising areas of cooperation,” the Russian Foreign Ministry added.
