Lavrov: Russia will not make concessions contrary to its interests

20 May 2019

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov declared in an interview with the program «Moscow. Kremlin. Putin» on the channel «Russia 1» that Russia does not intend to make concessions that contradict its interests.

“We must always be polite. And we are polite people, we speak on any topic. Based on the fact that you need to communicate, you need to listen to each other, and we hear others, by the way, they are not always. But this does not mean that if we speak politely, then we will make some concessions that contradict the fundamental national interests of the Russian Federation” the Minister underlined, in particular.

It is known that last week the Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry claimed that Russia would not build and deploy medium and short-range missiles in regions where similar US systems would not appear that had previously announced their withdrawal from the INF Treaty.
