Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold a meeting with Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Syria Geir Pedersen on June 8, they will continue an exchange of views on the whole complex of the Syrian settlement. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said this at a briefing on Wednesday.
"On June 8, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold a meeting with the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Syria, Mr. Pedersen. It is planned to continue the traditional exchange of views on the whole complex of the Syrian settlement," the diplomat said.
Zakharova also said that the main focus would be on promoting a Syrian-led political process with UN support and providing comprehensive humanitarian assistance to all Syrians in need, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolutions 2254, 2672.
