On the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin took part in the high-level meeting on Yemen.
Representatives of Great Britain, China, Kuwait, USA, France, Germany and Sweden also participated in the discussion.
The participants of the meeting unanimously spoke for no alternative to political and diplomatic settlement of the Yemeni conflict with respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic. The parties confirmed their support for the efforts of Martin Griffiths, United Nations Secretary‑General Special Envoy for Yemen, to advance the relevant negotiation process with the participation of all parties involved. They also stressed the need to continue providing humanitarian assistance to all Yemenis.
