The Russian leadership calls on Iran to refrain from escalating the situation around the nuclear deal, but responsibility should be exercised by all participants of the JCPOA, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
"The Iranian colleagues did not abandon the previously stated intention not to reckon with the volume of water limit set in the JCPOA, which can be accumulated. This position, as I understand it, remains in force, although we continue to call on the Iranians to refrain from escalating steps", Ryabkov said, in particular.
At the same time, according to the Deputy Minister, Moscow "understands the motives why Tehran has moved to the mode of "less for less."
The situation around the Iranian nuclear deal escalated after the U.S. President Donald Trump announced the withdrawal from the JCPOA and reapplied all the sanctions against Iran in May last year. Tehran, in its turn, suspended the execution of several articles of the deal.
