Tokayev expressed gratitude to Putin for supporting the supply of coronavirus vaccines

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Nur-Sultan expressed gratitude to Russian leader Vladimir Putin for his support in the issue of additional supplies of coronavirus vaccines to the republic. This was reported by the press service of the Kazakh President on Thursday.


"We are grateful to the Russian leadership, to the President of the Russian Federation for assistance and understanding with regard to joint efforts in the fight against the pandemic. In a conversation on March 23 [with the Russian President], I raised the issue of the Russian side providing us with an additional 4 million doses of vaccine. My request was met with understanding," Tokayev said.


"Before that, we agreed on joint production of the vaccine at the Karaganda factory. Production is already established there," he added.
