The FSB prevented mass killings in several regions, and 13 people were detained.
They prepared crimes in educational institutions, buildings of law enforcement agencies and just crowded places, the special service said in a press release.
"At the same time, 11 of them were members of a closed Internet community of one of the social networks," the report clarified.
One of the planned attacks was to take place on September 1 at the school line.
The criminal plans of the detainees are confirmed by their personal diaries and information in gadgets. They found instructions for making incendiary and explosive devices, attack schemes, four ready-made homemade bombs with striking elements, as well as hunting, traumatic and cold weapons stored with violations.
The FSB does not report on the motives of the detainees. It is not known whether they were members of groups that promote mass murder in schools. Their age is also not given.
In 2020, security forces prevented several armed attacks on educational institutions — in Kostroma, Snezhinsk, Saratov, Kerch, Sakhalin, Krasnoyarsk, Tyumen region and Volgograd. All the detainees were under 20 years old.
