FSB officers detained a resident of the Bashkir city of Neftekamsk on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack, the regional department reports.
According to the FSB, the detainee was going to set fire to the building of the city district administration. He planned this action to "destabilize the activities of state authorities and inspire protest activity against the current constitutional system." He openly campaigned on the Internet, the FSB notes.
The suspect was detained at the stage of preparation for the crime. Criminal cases were opened against him under the articles "Terrorist Act" and "Public calls for terrorist activities".
The detainee gave evidence. The FSB seized gadgets with information about preparations for a terrorist act, as well as videos of the making and testing of incendiary mixtures.
