The Federal security service prevented a terrorist attack in Simferopol, five extremists were preparing an explosion at one of the city's markets.
The press release of the Department specifies that all the detainees are Russian citizens.
In addition to preparing the explosion, they "propagated the ideology of terrorism and extremism on the Internet," the security service added.
Homemade bombs, small arms and cold weapons were seized from the extremists.
The FSB stressed that the detainees are associated with Ukrainian radicals fighting in the Donbass.
Now the issue of initiating a criminal case on preparation for a terrorist attack and public calls for terrorism is being resolved. The measure of restraint has not yet been chosen. The search for accomplices of extremists is in process.
