Russia is a clear leader in establishing companies with foreign participation in Antalya. Nearly 60 Russian firms have been established in the Turkish Mediterranean resort since the beginning of the year, Davut Cetin, head of the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), told TASS on Tuesday.
"In April we had a real "Russian boom" in founding of companies, Russia has significantly surpassed other countries by this indicator. Russian business has grown by 58 companies in Antalya since the beginning of the year," he said.
According to Cetin, by comparison, 19 Russian companies were created in Antalya from January to April 2021. "There is a threefold growth, it is a very serious number, April was for us just explosive," said the head of the ACCI. Earlier he reported that in January - March, 34 Russian companies were registered in Antalya.
Cetin also spoke about plans to create a second free trade zone in Antalya. "Work in this direction continues, I hope that within a year, the project will be implemented, as in the current free trade zone is almost no place left, and wishing to do our business every day is more and more," said the businessman. According to him, there is already a place for the free trade zone on the area of 10-14 million square meters between the provinces adjacent to Antalya Burdur and Isparta.
