Cavusoglu said he discussed with Lavrov an increase in quotas for vegetable deliveries to Russia

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said he discussed with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on Tuesday the possibility of increasing the supply of tomatoes and other vegetables from Turkey to Russia.


"Today we talked about the possibility of increasing the quota for the supply of tomatoes and other vegetables," Cavusoglu said following the talks. - <...> We have to eliminate obstacles in order to simplify trade."


The Turkish Minister stressed that Russia and Turkey cooperate intensively in various spheres. "We have an ambitious goal to increase trade turnover to $100 billion. This year, due to the pandemic, the figures have decreased, we see a decline of 20%. But we must increase our trade turnover," he said.


Cavusoglu noted that Turkey wants to hold a meeting of the intergovernmental mixed economic commission in the near future. "We plan to hold a business forum for our entrepreneurs in Moscow," the Turkish Foreign Minister added.
