The installation of the first nuclear equipment, specifically the melt localization device ("melt trap"), has commenced at the inaugural power unit of the El Dabaa nuclear power plant in Egypt. This significant milestone was announced by the Egyptian Nuclear Power Plants Authority on its official website.
The installation ceremony was inaugurated by Amged Al-Wakil, the Chairman of the Authority. The Egyptian side strategically timed this event to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the commencement of the 1973 war with Israel, a milestone widely regarded as a victory in the Arab world. Al-Wakil emphasized the importance of installing the "melt trap" at the El Dabaa nuclear power plant on this historic day, a symbol of pride and honor.
