Federal Air Transport Agency to increase the number of flights to Egypt

Nine Russian airlines will be able to launch regular flights from Russia to Egyptian resorts, Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada, follows from the message of the Federal Air Transport Agency. Thus, Aeroflot and S7 will launch flights from Moscow, and Rossiya, which already operates in Egypt, will increase the frequency of flights.  Ural Airlines, Azur Air, Nordwind, Ikar, Red Wings, S7 and Yamal will launch flights from the regions.


"The airlines will be given the right to operate one flight per week on each route to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh [from 49 regions]. Also the number of flights on the Moscow - Hurghada and Moscow - Sharm el-Sheikh routes will increase from 5 to 15 flights per week," reminded the Federal Air Transport Agency.


So, Aeroflot (seven flights a week in each direction) and S7 (one and two flights a week, respectively) will launch flights from Moscow to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh, Rossiya, which already has five flights a week to each city, will increase the frequency of flights to seven and six respectively. Ural Airlines will launch flights from Zhukovsky to Hurghada, Azur Air - to Sharm el-Sheikh. Ural Airlines will also launch flights from St. Petersburg to Hurghada.


"A significant number of regional flights to the resort cities of Egypt will be operated by Northern Wind, which has received 40 approvals. The airline was given permission to start flights from Arkhangelsk, Astrakhan, Vladikavkaz, Grozny, Irkutsk, Kaluga, Saratov, Krasnoyarsk, Kemerovo, Orsk and others," reads the message.


Azur Air (Vladivostok and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky) and Ikar (Khabarovsk) will fly to Egyptian resorts from the cities of the Far East. Rossiya will also start flights to Egyptian cities from Voronezh, Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody, Rostov, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, Perm and Novosibirsk; S7 - from Kazan, Ufa, Samara and Yekaterinburg. Azur Air also starts flights from Makhachkala, Astrakhan, Barnaul and Tomsk, Yamal - from Belgorod and Volgograd, and Red Wings - from Saratov.


Rosaviatsiya specified that on the eve there was a meeting with representatives of airlines, Rostourism and tour operators.


"Representatives of Rosaviatsiya informed the meeting that the Agency is working with the interested federal executive bodies to submit proposals to the Operational Headquarters to increase the number of regular and charter flights to the resort cities in Egypt, both from Moscow and from other regions of the country", the report says.
