Lavrov Highlights EAEU’s Strategic Logistics Advantages

02 April

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasized the natural geographic and logistical advantages that benefit both members and partners of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Speaking at a press conference following talks with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, Lavrov noted that the EAEU, along with ASEAN, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and other Eurasian institutions, naturally leverage their geographic positioning to enhance trade and infrastructure development. He described this as a historical and strategic advantage, ensuring that Eurasian nations are the primary beneficiaries of their resource wealth and infrastructure projects.

"This process is shaping what we call the Greater Eurasian Partnership, which, when linked to security issues, serves as the economic foundation for a stable Eurasian security architecture," Lavrov added.

The minister stressed that the EAEU operates on principles of equality and mutual benefit, contrasting it with U.S.-led tariff wars and Western economic restrictions. He criticized unilateral sanctions and financial manipulation by Western powers, arguing that the EAEU’s cooperative approach offers a more balanced and fair economic model.
