Russia, at a meeting of foreign ministers of the Group of Twenty (G20), showed its readiness to fulfill all obligations for the supply of cheap energy, oil and gas, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday following his participation in the meeting.
"[We] showed our readiness to fulfill all obligations of the Russian Federation and on the supply of cheap, affordable energy carriers, hydrocarbons, oil and gas," he pointed out.
The Russian foreign minister added that the United States is trying to force the entire world, including Europe, to give up cheaper energy resources and switch to more expensive resources. "Although this is exactly what the United States actively opposes, forcing Europe and the rest of the world to give up these available energy carriers, to switch to much more expensive resources," Lavrov pointed out.
He also touched on food security, stressing that there are no obstacles on Moscow's part to solving problems in this area. "Secondly, with regard to food: there are no obstacles from our side for this problem to be solved using good stocks of our grains, but again the West with its unilateral restrictions has created problems for the insurance of our ships, for their entry into ports, for making financial payments for food supplies. We have drawn attention to all this," summarized the head of the Russian foreign ministry.
