President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the plenary session of the XVII Forum of interregional cooperation of Kazakhstan and Russia, which takes place on Thursday in the online format, said that the republic begins to develop the offshore oil field Kalamkas-sea. Lukoil will be a partner in the project.
"We are starting the development of the large Kalamkas-sea (Hazar) field. The strategic partner from the Russian side has been determined - it is the Lukoil company. The total cost of the project will be about $5 billion," Tokayev said.
