Pakistan is considering the possibility of trading with Russia in rubles and yuan. The issue may be resolved next year, Zahid Ali Khan, President of the Trade House of Pakistan Association and Executive Director of the Pakistan-Russia Business Council under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, told reporters at the international forum "Export Marathon" in Yekaterinburg on Tuesday.
"So far we trade in dollars, but dollars are also a problem. <...> We are considering the issue to trade in rubles, but the question is still being finalized, or in yuan - China is our very great friend and neighbor. But so far the issue has not been resolved," he said, noting that such a transition could take place next year.
The Pakistani market is interested in supplying goods from Russia in the chemical industry and pharmaceuticals. "In the near future, we see very great prospects for the development of relations between Russia and Pakistan. Especially, of course, [Pakistan is interested in that] Russia exports chemical products, technical, paper, <...>, we need pharmaceuticals. These are issues that are being worked out now," said Zahid Ali Khan.
