Passenger rail service between Russia and Uzbekistan to resume from June 23

Railway passenger service between Russia and Uzbekistan is to be resumed from June 23, Russian Railways said in a statement.


"We resume passenger rail service with Uzbekistan," the statement reads.


Russian Railways will launch a train of Uzbekistan Railways company from Tashkent on Thursdays and from Samara on Sundays once a week from June 23. The train from the capital of Uzbekistan to Volgograd will resume its service from June 25 and will operate once a week on Saturdays and in the opposite direction on Tuesdays.


The Russian Railways operator also noted that the ticket sales for these trains will be launched shortly. They will be available 45 days before departure.


On June 3, the operational headquarters for combating the coronavirus reported that since June 14 Russia has lifted all epidemiological restrictions for foreigners entering the country by air and sea.


In addition, from June 14,  the operational headquarters decided to resume the railway service on the routes Tashkent - Samara and Tashkent - Volgograd with a frequency of once a week on each route.
