Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov has authorized the state concern Turkmenneft (Turkmennebit) to conclude an additional agreement with Russia's Tatneft to perform services at the Goturdepe field. This was reported on Thursday night by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
"To conclude in the prescribed manner an additional agreement on the performance of services at least 550 oil wells at the Goturdepe oil and gas field," the agency quotes an excerpt from the presidential decree.
This decision was made in order to successfully meet the challenges of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan and increase the productivity of oil wells through the introduction of modern technology and special equipment.
Berdymukhamedov has previously promised to continue the diversification of the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan, which "provides for the construction of modern complexes specializing in the processing of oil and gas, and the accelerated industrial development of new fields.
