Rossotrudnichestvo plans to hold a conference on food security in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, this April. The announcement was made by the agency's head, Yevgeny Primakov, during a roundtable discussion on the global fight against hunger and poverty.
“Food security and sovereignty are key priorities for us right now. This April, Rossotrudnichestvo intends to organize a food security conference in Addis Ababa as a continuation of the Russia-Africa summit. The event will involve participation from the Russian Export Center (REC), the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and others,” Primakov stated, noting that preparations are at an advanced stage.
According to Primakov, African nations have shown significant interest not only in food supplies but also in acquiring technologies for food processing, expertise, and logistics infrastructure. “This is the field we aim to focus on,” he added.
