Rostourism announces the launch of charter flights to Egypt and Turkey

28 April 2022

Charter flights to Egypt and Turkey may be launched from May, the relevant work is currently underway. This was reported by the head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova during a briefing on Thursday.

"Now there is already a direct flight connection to Istanbul, there is a direct flight connection to a number of Egyptian resorts. However, the volume is not enough yet. And we are now working to expand opportunities not only for regular flights, but also to launch charter flights, so that tour operators could begin to implement the amount of accumulated obligations that we have talked about," said Doguzova.

Rostourism together with the Ministry of Transport, Federal Air Transport Agency and foreign colleagues is working to ensure that travel to the most popular foreign destinations will be available to Russian tourists, albeit in a limited amount. In addition to Egypt and Turkey, Russians have access to UAE, Sri Lanka, Qatar, Bahrain and Seychelles. Beginning from the second half of May direct flight connection is planned to be launched with Maldives. Besides, Russian tourists may travel to Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Belorussia, the head of the department told.

She noted that it is possible to get to a number of countries with connection. Tourists are advised to take into account the current situation and carefully organize and plan trips abroad, added Doguzova.
