Russia and Kazakhstan have agreed on the export of electricity from Russia, the conditions of electricity supplies will be determined by commercial companies in the future, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told TASS.
"An agreement has been reached that there will be such supplies of electricity, but commercial conditions must be ensured. The terms will be worked out between commercial companies," he said.
Novak said that at a meeting with Kazakh Prime Minister Askar Mamin on November 15, the sides also discussed other issues of cooperation in the fuel and energy complex, including issues of the oil and gas industry.
Earlier, Alexandra Panina, the acting head of Inter RAO's trading block (an electricity export-import operator) said that the company was discussing the possibility of electricity supplies to Kazakhstan in November this year against the background of the possibility of a deficit. According to her, in an "ideal scenario" Inter RAO could supply about 600 MW of electricity.
