Russia's budget revenues from the oil and gas industry in 2022 increased by 28%, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said.

"I would like to note that the budget revenues from the oil and gas industry increased by 28%, or 2.5 trillion rubles, last year," Novak said during a meeting between Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and deputy prime ministers.

Novak said that oil production in Russia increased by 2% to 535 million tons by the end of 2022, while oil exports increased by 7%.

"As for the oil industry, we also have a positive result for last year, despite the actions of unfriendly countries and sanctions restrictions. Last year's oil production was 535 million tons, which is 10 million tons higher than in 2021, or plus 2%. Exports were also up 7%," he said.

"Summing up, I would like to note once again that the fuel and energy complex last year, despite all the difficulties, demonstrated stable performance, resistance to external challenges, the ability to ensure the energy security of our country and the realization of export potential, including for the formation of a significant part of the Russian budget," Novak specified.

In December, Novak said in an interview with TASS that Russia plans to increase oil exports to 260 million tons by 2025, including to Asian countries. According to the Russian Federal Customs Service, Russia exported 229.9 million tons of oil worth $110.1 billion in 2021. In 2020, 238.6 million tons of oil were exported.
