The trade turnover between Russia and Tajikistan in the first 11 months of this year increased by more than a third compared to the same period last year and for the first time in history exceeded $1.5 billion, Russian Trade Representative in the republic Yevgeny Korenkov told TASS in an interview on Friday.
"In the first 11 months of 2022, the Russia-Tajikistan trade turnover grew by almost 35% compared to the same period of 2021 and passed the mark of $1.5 billion," he said. According to the trade mission, cooperation between Moscow and Dushanbe has been actively developing in recent years. In 2021, the bilateral trade turnover grew by 39% compared to the previous year, not only exceeding all pre-demand values, but also reaching a historical maximum.
