The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Russia at the end of 2021 amounted to $24 billion, which was a record, Kazakhstan's ambassador to Russia, Yermek Kosherbayev, said in an interview with RBC published on Wednesday.
"I expected that bilateral trade turnover will reach a historical maximum of around $23 billion. But at the end of last year [it was] $24 billion. This is a very large amount for us, this has never been in the history between our states," said the ambassador.
The diplomat noted that in 2020 the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $19 billion.
On January 14, the trade mission of Russia in Kazakhstan told TASS that they expect at the end of 2021 a record trade turnover of $23 billion.
