Turkmenistan Airlines began selling tickets for regular flights from Ashgabat to Kazan. This was reported by the Orient Turkmen news agency on Tuesday.
The agency was told by the sales office in Ashgabat that the flights will depart from the capital of Turkmenistan on Wednesdays. The plane will depart from Ashgabat at 14:55 (12:55 Moscow time) and arrive in the capital of Tatarstan at 16:30 (coinciding with Moscow time). The return flight will depart at 19:00 local time and arrive in Turkmenistan at 00:00 Thursday (22:00 Moscow time).
It is also reported that Turkmenistan Airlines resumes regular flights to Dubai, they will operate on Mondays.
Regular flights between Turkmenistan and Russia were suspended in March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Before that, Turkmenistan Airlines operated regular flights to Moscow (Domodedovo), St. Petersburg and Kazan. Since March, the airline also operated outbound flights from Turkmenistan to Russia instead of Russia's S7.
The former President of Turkmenistan and Chairman of the Upper House of Parliament Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited Kazan on May 19 to attend the 13th International Economic Summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2022". On April 24, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited Ashgabat and met with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
