02 September

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) sees “exceptional opportunities” for its financial institutions to work within the framework of interaction with BRICS countries, according to UAE Deputy Finance Minister Younis Haji Al Khoori in an interview with WAM.

“The UAE’s accession to the BRICS group represents a strategic achievement for our financial sector. It opens up new horizons for cooperation and creates exceptional opportunities for our financial institutions to interact with partners within the BRICS framework,” Al Khoori  stated.

He emphasized that through strengthening ties with BRICS countries, the UAE aims to enhance economic, trade, and investment prospects for all members of the regional grouping. The UAE is particularly eager to “play a pioneering and key role in developing the initiatives put forward by the group,” including the implementation of joint infrastructure projects.

“Our membership in BRICS contributes to advancing balanced economic relations, promoting sustainable national economic growth, and strengthening our position in many developing countries,” Al Khoori  added.
