Uzbek president Shavkat Mirziyoyev and VTB chairman Andrey Kostin agreed to develop a road map for cooperation at a meeting in Tashkent, Mirziyoyev's press service said Thursday.
"An agreement has been reached to prepare a joint road map to promote practical cooperation," the statement said. According to the press service, the interlocutors noted great opportunities for cooperation "in the implementation and financing of industrialization and infrastructure modernization projects."
As an example of investment cooperation VTB will provide a $1 billion loan for the development of Uzbekistan's largest Navoi mining and metallurgical plant. The agreement was announced on Thursday.
Navoi mining and metallurgical plant is the largest mining company in Uzbekistan, the combine specializes in the extraction and processing of gold. The annual production of gold is about 80 tons.
