Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is set to hold meetings with his counterparts from Mexico, South Africa, and Turkey on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers' Council in Rio de Janeiro, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said during an interview on Sputnik radio.
"A number of bilateral meetings with colleagues from Mexico and South Africa are planned. We are also working on arranging a meeting with a colleague from Turkey. There are quite a few meetings scheduled. Of course, there will be a meeting with the foreign minister of Brazil. Additionally, meetings with the foreign ministers of Egypt and Bolivia are on the agenda. And this is just a partial list," the diplomat stated.
Prior to his arrival in Brazil for the G20 summit, Lavrov concluded his working tour in Latin America, visiting Cuba and Venezuela.
Zakharova emphasized that during the event, Lavrov will present Russian assessments of global challenges, their underlying causes and dynamics, and outline necessary steps to effectively address global issues.
