RIW Group Chairman and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov addressed the participants of the fourth annual meeting in Dagestan’s capital of Makhachkala.
He focused on Russia’s experience in leveraging education and better ties between different cultural to prevent extremist ideas from taking root in the minds of young people.
IN 2018, THE GROUP HELD 25 EVENTS INCLUDING 13 IN TATARSTAN, THREE IN MOSCOW, ONE IN CRIMEA, AND EIGHT IN OTHER COUNTRIES – TURKEY, THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, ITALY, FRANCE, KAZAKHSTAN, AND BRUNEI.
The events included the anniversary 10th KazanSummit, the Forum Journalists from Muslim Countries For Partnership of Civilizations in Yalta, Crimea, and the Dialogue of Cultures: Chighiz Aitmatov’s Legacy in Turkey.
There will be more events scheduled later this year, he added.
IN JUNE 2018, THE GROUP WAS GRANTED CONSULTATIVE STATUS BY THE UN ECOSOC COUNCIL.
The Group Chairman also spoke about the team’s concerted efforts in youth education.

Tatarstan has some experience that the region is ready to share, the president said. Among new ideas that Mr. Minnikhanov floated was setting up the Academy of Young Talents.
